depression...and happiness.. oh you mean life?
God damn that was cringe
lol
Luffy wouldn't say something shit like this
Yes exactly
This episode particularly made me really sad, I remembered the university of Nalanda which was burnt and destroyed by Baktiyar Khilji, it's said the university was first of it's kind and had students from all the east Asia. Worst part of this is the collection of books and scriptures were so vast that University's library burnt for 3 whole months. Really breaks my heart
Those who said they didn't cry 🤡
Ikr it first stabs you in the heart then instantly heals it
The way Professor Clover explained it, sends chills down my spine. Imagine living in such a haunted planet, where an unscratchable stone is being etched into cubic stones, while writing the Blank Century's history on them, and scattering them throughout the entire world. Just how dark the history needs to be that the World Government scrounges every nook and corner, just to annihilate every single person who has the slightest knowledge of it. This makes me extremely eager to know the Blank Century, even though it's really spooky if I say so myself...
~Moreover, if Robin is the only person in the world who can still read Poneglyphs, her bounty is dangerously low. Even though it doesn't make that much sense on why it's that low, but it's good for Robin nevertheless. It's easy to see how much of a crude, narrow-ass mindset the World Govt. really has, when people with a true sense of "Justice" choose to leave working for them. But I guess we can't really blame everyone in the World Government, since mostly the Top Officials know about the dark history, and has been controlling everyone else like literal puppets.
Lastly, Robin and Nami's story are the most cruel amongst all the Strawhats. Both had an insanely rough childhood, both lost their mother, both lost their village [Nami lost her 100M, so she too lost the freedom of her village]. Both were thought to be a disgrace for their village, [except Nami's villagers secretely loved her, but still... both thought that they were always being hated]. Lastly, I guess Robin's one definitely ranks a bit higher/much higher up the cruelty mark. She had to live her life in solidute, being constantly treated like a slave; a monster; a nobody, while living with a faint image of her mother, and seeing her village get obliterated and her few loved ones get killed so brutally murdered with her own eyes at such a young age. Nami at least a few good moments with Bellemere-san, and her village was saved at the end by Luffy nonetheless. Moreover, Robin had to live in constant fear of being hunted down by the Govt.
So yeah, that's about it ig :') Huge props for Robin's VA for doing such an insane performance!! ಥ╭╮ಥ
that is the most accurate comment ever!!!!!!
Indeed, robin and nami's backstory are cruel and I'm also curious in Blank Century too.
I wouldn't say nami's and robin's backstories are the "saddest" each had their own sad story and I don't think that emotion can be compared, saying it's "more sad" or "less sad" just completely misses the point, every character went through shit, and I'd argue chopper's was WAY more cruel in general, not to mention the whole of sanji's story, not to mention that every straw hat member has lost somebody dear to them.
Robin has the saddest backstory thus far :(
on par with nami and her 100 mil
i hate to disagree to you, but this backstory surpasses nami's one 1000%
<lets wait="" for=""></sanji>
yea he had the saddest in my opinion
I always thought Nami's backstory was the saddest of them all, but Robin's one is definitely much worse. :(
I cried on chopper's backstory though :(
Awww, thank you hehe ^^
LMAOOo
So no one's gonna talk about the former vice admiral??? He sacrifice his life just to save Robin and quit being a vice admiral because he don't like the justice system of the government?
fuckin chad 😭
saul best marine ever
just imagine the work on those studies just to be burned and destroyed
This has happened in real life, Search Up Nalanda and it's history you will see, how the islamic invader's burned down the biggest library in the world
First time it was destroyed by mihirakula,
second time it was destroyed by the gaudas,
third time it was destroyed by khilji.
dont blame islam for what happened. look up the previous two attacks. both of them are non islam. so why blame religion? its individual act and it is disgrace
Khilji's attack was the final nail to the coffin, University burnt for 3 months. All 3 attacks were against buddhism, so why shouldn't we blame Islam too because it was literally driven by religion
Cause then, you will have to blame AND MENTION other religions too that is involved.
Nothing new for the desert cult
Islamophobic
It was driven by religion and well documented, what else are you supposed to call that?
Yup, I remembered the same thing
Robin-chan dont cry :(
those marine guys are more evil than some of the pirates. their mind is so close in hearing others opinion because the only thing that's important to them is their safety. kill who oppose us because what we're doing is for our world. lol f*ck them.
Such a great man!! So far, I'm liking the giants. All giants that they met are kind in their own way.
LIVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
i bawled my eyes out
This was the most emotional thus far
To be honest now I think I’m more interested in the history of the polygraph than the one piece but again they both might be connected somehow and when the old man with the green clover hairstyle was talking about his theory the other old guy on the other end of the phone was like he knows to much kill them all that moment was eye opening
entry 238 - i love robin sm
i love character backstories
also why are some people saying sanjis backstory is sadder than this
Dereshi !!!!!,
First One piece episode to make me cry, and I'm freakin 31! Thought i was done crying over cartoons 2 decades ago. Boy was this an emotional episode!
Cheers Brother / Sister whatever you are. 33 here. I consider OP the most relevant piece of literature/art in this century. And yes of course, made me cry as well.
robin suffered too much as a child and as she grow up, she deserves to be happy with the straw hats
robiiiiin Y-Y (btw, can anyone tell me why this ep is 40 min long?)
They probably f***ed it up and now it's a 24 minute episode again :'|
~I'm sad now, knowing that I missed it TwT
it became a short movie lol, but i liked that its 40 minutes than cutting it into two eps
sad
one piece gave me depression and happiness at the same time
